Darrel Duane Howell, 79, Grove, OK, passed into eternal rest January 4, 2025 at his home in Grove, OK. Surrounded by his family.
Darrel Duane Howell was born in Wichita, KS the son of Hank and Vera (Troliop) Howell. He was a 1964 graduate of Wellington, Kansas High School. Darrel served his county in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. Darrel loved fishing, gardening, horses, raising calves and giving them special names. He will be remembered by all who met him as a jokester, which was the way he showed his love for his family and friends. Darrel was a member of New Life Fellowship in Neosho, MO.
Darrel D. Howell married Judy J. Metheny October 16, 1965 in San Diego, CA and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son; Mark Howell and wife Leslie, Shelbyville, TX; two daughters; Christine Builta and husband Gary, Grove, OK and Jenny Wilson, Grove, OK; Grandchildren; Kimberly Carlson, Maple Amade Carlson, Bailey Wilson, Christian Wilson, Clinton Howell, Sheryl Howell and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Carol Lee Howell and wife Marlyn, Wellington, KS.
Darrel was preceded in death by his father and mother; two sisters, Lee Rook and Leona Morris and one grandson Wade Howell.
The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Bidlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 6:00pm, Thursday, January 9, 2025 at New Life Fellowship in Neosho, MO with Mark Buzzard Officiating.
