Darrel William Setzer, 69, passed away on August 23, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Baltimore City County on January 29, 1955 to the late Junior William Setzer & Lois Nall Setzer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Biddy.
Darrel loved sports. He loved to play golf, baseball and he was a Carolina fan. Darrel enjoyed watching nascar. Most of all he loved his family, children and great-grandson. He made many happy memories with his family, who will cherish them forever.
He is survived by his son, Clinton Setzer (Jenny); daughter, Tiffany Sanchez (Leo); sisters, Sharon Smith (Ron), Tammy McClure (Terry), and Pam Allsbrooks; grandchildren, Haillie Biddy, Kennadi Whitaker, Kaitlin Rumfelt, Caroline Rumfelt, and Luke Rumfelt; great-grandson, Walker Hebebrand.
Family and friends will gather from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. David White officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Dogwood section, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, NC 28054
