Darrell Doyle Bishop, 85, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away September 17, 2024. He was born April 4, 1939, in Vilonia, Arkansas to the late Doyle and Flossie Bishop.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Irice Sipes, Bud Bishop, Danny Bishop, and Carol Hambrick. Darrell is survived by his wife, Charlotte Bishop, children, Becky Torres, Debbie Harris (Travis), Sherry Jones (Kyle), Missy Rhude (Ron), Jeff Norman (Noel); grandchildren, Tiffany, Tori, Kristin, Brandon, Bailey, Kylie, Nicholas, Justin, Mady, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Elle, Adam, Lilly, Crosby, and Hattie; brother, Jimmy Bishop (Brenda); many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Darrell served in the United States Army for four years. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1991 after 34 years.
Darrell was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood where he enjoyed attending Sunday services and his Sunday School class. He was an avid Razorback fan and could often be found calling the Hogs!
He was a great friend and neighbor. You could often find Darrell sitting on the tailgate of his truck waving to his neighbors as they left for work and even mowing their yards!
Pallbearers will be Brandon Wallace, Eric McNespey, Justin Rathke, Kyle Jones, Nicholas Rathke, Travis Harris, and Wayne Bishop. Brother Ricky Lee will officiate the service.
Visitation will be 5:00PM-7:00PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street). A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Sherwood with burial following at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia.
