Darrell “DJ” Eugene Cowart, Jr., 46, entered into rest Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born in Sacramento, CA and was a resident of Augusta until moving to Sardis in 2018. He worked as a mechanical technician for Sig Cox Heating and Air and was very dedicated to his job. DJ loved to fish and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a loving husband, father, son, and great papa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Amanda Lynn Cowart.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Annie Cowart; three children, Ruben Lovato of Augusta, Magen Bryant, and Jessica Bryant both of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Chad Shirey, Jaylyn Shirey, Nevaeh Prescott, Skyler Schlitching, Layla Cook, Leeyana Cook, Carter Lovato, and R.J. Lovato; four great grandchildren, Chad, Brylon, Kingston, and Jaylynn; his mother, Cherry Hill of Biloxi, MS; his father, Darrell Cowart, Sr. of Augusta; a brother, Shawn Cowart of Augusta; two brothers-in-law, Jody Smith and Poncho Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be private.
