Darrell Lee Glasgo "Paw Paw", 65, was born February 10, 1958, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Hubert and Laurette Glasgo. Darrell was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, where he attended Jackson Street Elementary School, Reynaud Middle School, then W. O. Boston High School. In between each school, he met the love of his life, Eddie Arlene, and two this union three children were born, Destiny, Darrell Jr., and Jamal. He was a great provider, family man, and Arlene's best friend and "her boo". Darrell enjoyed hunting and fishing, and definitely, those New Orleans Saints. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He never met a stranger, but loved most, spoiling his grandchildren. Darrell was the best carpet, tile, and vinyl man from age fifteen until his health stopped him. He departed this life Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Lake Charles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Eddie Arlene Vital Glasgo; daughter, Destiny Glasgo (Pete); son, Darrell Lee Jr. (Alexis); sisters, Sonja, Geniene, and Sharee Glasgo (Ronnie), Cautina Cofield, and Christina Cofield (Calvin) Charles; grandchildren, D'Nayah, Mikalah, and Mileah Vital, and D'esron Peterson; aunt, Ivory Jean Valmore; great aunt, Janet Dansby; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Glasgo, Laurette Williamson-Glasgo, and Florence Cofield-Glasgo; son, Jamal Edward Glasgo; granddaughter, Alina Cierra Glasgo; and brother, Ruffus Allen Glasgo. His visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 2PM with his funeral following at 4PM, at James Funeral Home located at 1801 Moeling Street in Lake Charles. Bishop Larry Gasaway will officiate.
