With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darrell W. Gray, a beloved husband, father, Papa, brother and friend. He was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 28, 2025. Darrell was cherished by his family. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of 37 years whom he loved to hear sing and binge watch Netflix shows. They had two beautiful children, son, Nathan W. Gray (Alyssa), whom he enjoyed spending time with building computers and talking about whose electric car would go faster; and his daughter, Kristin N. Gray, he was so proud of her for working on becoming a RN. He was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren Eli and Emma Holmes. They were his hearts motivation to keep beating for the last 8 1/2 years. He enjoyed taking them to the park, watching them ride their bikes or just cuddling with them on the couch. They never went to bed without getting a hug and kiss their Papa.
Darrell was a CNC Machinist and Engineer and had many years in Quality Management which lead up to owning Gray Machine. He was very giving and always looking out for his family and others. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He served his community by opening up Church in the Street, an outreach ministry to spread the word of Jesus. He loved talking about the Bible, enjoying time with his grandchildren, family, friends, and driving his Tesla.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters John Gray, William Gray, Kenneth Gray, Pamela Bender, and Ruth Brown (HK) all of West Virginia; Roy Gray (Shannon) of Ohio; Sally DeCent (David) of Arizona; and Ted Gray of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lemon Gray Jr. and Shirley Alltop (Collum), sisters Darla Collum, Patricia Miller, and brother James Gray.
