Darrell "Nub" Eugene Gross, age 70, of Ridgedale, Missouri, passed away April 1, 2025. He was born August 15, 1954, in Branson, Missouri, the son of Lester and Lois (Jones) Gross. His parents; two brothers: Dallas Gross and Wes Gross; as well as a brother-in-law, Robert Elam, have preceded him in death.
Nub grew up in Taney County and completed his degree in finance from School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout Missouri, in the 1970s. After graduation, Nub worked in the financial world as an accountant, tax preparer and TIF manager. He was ambitious and also enjoyed discussing and following politics. Nub was also a member of Cedar Valley Church in Hollister, Missouri. His first love was horses. Nub studied genetics and breeding, ever in pursuit of "the perfect horse." He showed many horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Nub is survived by his nephews: Kevin Gross and wife, Wendy of Ridgedale, Missouri, Kelly Gross and wife, Wendy of Clinton, Arkansas, and Ronnie Gross and wife, Terry gross from Oklahoma; sister, Genevieve Elam of Harrison, Arkansas; and a sister-in-law, Patty Gross of Ridgedale, Missouri.
No services are planned at this time. Nub's wishes were to be laid to rest beside his parents at Cedar Valley Cemetery, Hollister, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
