Darrell Wayne Roberts was born June 19, 1961, to Darrell G and Patricia Roberts. He passed away after a courageous two-year battle with lung cancer on Monday, June 20, 2022. One day after celebrating his 61st Birthday. He is preceded in death by Father Darrell G. Roberts, nephew and best friend Chad Roberts and nephew baby Javien Dean. He is survived by Mother Patricia Roberts, brother, Raymond Roberts two sisters, Debbie and Husband Donnie Aten, and Marla Taylor all of Hobbs, NM., many nieces and nephews. As well as his good friend Bill Flores, who was always there for him all throughout his illness.
Darrell loved Football and stayed a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan whether they were winning or losing. He loved going to Ruidoso to enjoy the mountains and tall pines. One of the highlights of his life was seeing the ocean while visiting his niece, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Darrell was a one-of-a-kind son, brother, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger and always knew how to make everyone laugh and feel at ease.
Darrell worked as a roughneck in his early years and as a plumber for On Point Plumbing for many years up until his illness. He was laughing and making jokes up until his last days.
