Darrell Wayne Self
February 3, 1967 - October 25, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the man, the myth, the legend, Darrell Wayne Self, aged 58, who left us on October 25, 2025 in Haltom City, Texas. Darrel had a passion for cars and guitars with a particular love for El Caminos and Cameros. He was a certified mechanic for over 40 years.
Darrell never met a stranger, calling every man his brother and falling in love with every pretty girl (I lover her). The man could talk and liked to crack jokes.
Darrell will be deeply missed by his beloved mother, Sylvia Young, as well as his brother, Durke Self, and sister, Rachel Baker. He leaves behind three children, many grandchildren, aunts, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Self, his little brother, Michael Roy Storms, his four uncles, and both sets of grandparents.
We invite family and friends to gather in remembrance of Darrell on November 7, 2025, at 3 pm at Emerald Hills cemetery for a graveside service.
