Darrell Shelton Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, R. J. and Roella Shelton; grandparents, Andrew Stokley, Annie Mae Roberts Stokley, George Shelton, and Ellen Yates Shelton; brother, R. L. Shelton, George Shelton; sister-in-law, Rodetta Shelton, Regina Shelton; and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deloris Shelton; son, Darrell Dwayne Shelton, Glen Edward (Jeanette) Shelton all of Del Rio; daughter, Deloris Renae (Mike) Fortner, Rutledge; brothers, Danny (Dina) Shelton of Del Rio, R. J. Shelton, Jr.; sisters, Margaret McMahan of Baneberry, and Peggy (Randy) Henderson of Del Rio; grandchildren, Justin Shelton, Megan (Jeff) Spears, Ashley Shelton, Natalia Shelton, Trinidy Shelton, Bradley Shelton, Kaylen (Heath) Holt, Thomas (Marissa) Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Jonah and Council Shelton, Oaklee Shelton, Melissa Smallwood, Scarlett and Blaine Smallwood, Reece Ottinger and Emery Holt, they were all the joy of his life; also several nieces, nephews other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm – 7 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2026, with the funeral service following at 7 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Shelton-Stokley Cemetery, Del Rio.
