Darrell was born on June 3, 1959, in Pennsylvania, son of the late E.A. Shepherd and Virginia Smith. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Arthur.
A private memorial service will be held.
Surviving family includes his children, Melanie Shepherd (Brad) of Illinois, Sean Shepherd of Maryland; grandchildren, Caleb, and Aurora; siblings, Diane Prather of Florida, and Donna Cortese of Maryland.
