Darrell Lee Symes, 54, of Fayette, MO passed away June 20, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital. Darrell was born on March 13, 1971, in Fayette, a son of Melvin Lee Symes and Nancy Johnmeyer Symes.
Darrell owned and operated Symes Construction Inc. and had also worked in the past in many different trades which included carpentry, welding, farm work and trucking. He was a hardworking, honest man and took great pride and integrity in his work. Darrell was known for always having a well-trained loyal dog accompanying him in his adventures. He enjoyed caring for his variety of farm animals, guns, working on machinery, and trail riding.
Darrell is survived by his son, Wyatt Symes of Fayette; mother, Nancy Johnmeyer Symes of Fayette; brother, Duane Symes and wife, Sharon of Battle Ground, WA; sister, Alison Parish and husband, Robert of Bellevue, WA; nephews, Benjamin, Jacob and Luke Symes; nieces, Isabella, Abigail and Rose Parish and numerous wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins. His father, Melvin Lee Symes preceded him in death.
Funeral services honoring Darrell's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Pastor Sharae Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 12:00 PM until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the funeral at the Fayette City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette PAWS Program.
