He married the love of his life, his soulmate, Barbara Sue Hicks on September 11, 1960. They were married 65 years. They were blessed with four beautiful children.
He worked various jobs in the agriculture and sawmill industries until he became a potato inspector for the State of Oregon. Darrell retired in 1999.
He passed away on October 6, 2025.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Susie; son, Gregory Wanamaker; brother, Farrell Wanamaker; great grandchildren, Braxton Walden and Deacon Walden.
He is survived by wife, Barbara Wanamaker of Malin, OR; daughters, Loretta )Greg) McCully of Malin, OR; Marnetta (Alan) Walden of Tulelake, CA; son, Allen (Sheila) Wanamaker of Eagle Point, OR; grandchildren, Kristen (Robbie) Masten of Malin, OR; Jordan (Cody) Dodson of Tulelake, CA' Mandee (Chris) Shaull of Medford, OR; Jake (Anna) Walden of Tulelake, CA; Tyler (Kylie) Wanamaker of White City, OR; riley (Ryan) Carle of Newberg, OR; and nine great grandchildren with one more on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to OHSU Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center and Endocrinolgoy Clinic, Marquam Hill.
