Charles Burt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd - Klamath Falls on Mar. 12, 2026.
Charles "Chuck" Arthur Burt was born March 18, 1936 in Hullet, WY to Ollie and Sylvia Burt.

The family moved to Klamath Falls, and then as a small child moved back to South Dakota, then back to Klamath Falls in the Stewart Lennox area for the rest of his life.

He met his wife Iva "Susie" Snyder who also lived in Stewart Lennox in the late 1940s when her brother brought him home as a friend. They were married Sept 5th, 1958, and celebrated 67 years together in 2025. Chuck worked on his sister's ranch before going to work for Weyhauser and Columbia Plywood until he was injured on the job in 1973. Chuck and Susie raised 4 children in the house they bought in 1958. They added on to their small house as the family grew.

Chuck loved to go camping and water skiing at Shasta Lake and Lake of the Woods. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In later years he liked to make model cars, play cards with his wife and do word search puzzles.

He was the neighborhood handyman and 2nd dad to many of the local children. He was involved with District 4 fire department.

Chuck attended church all his life. First at Klamath Temple which is now Glad Tidings then switched to Assembly of God (Thrive Church).

He and Susie were blessed with 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, sons Benny, Dale (Candy) and Tim (Erin) and daughter Donnalee (Carl). His grandchildren Brandi, Ryan and Ryan, Kerri, Nicky, Carl Jr, Josh and Dakota.

Great grandchildren, Shyanna Bryce, Tegun, Ben, Landon, Loralie, Maddie, Hunter, Cameron and numerous nieces, nephews, step grand and great grandchildren. Brother Clyde and Sister Grace.

He is also survived by many neighborhood children who called him Dad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother LeRoy, Sisters Hazel and Loretta.

His final resting place will be Eternal Hills, Klamath Falls, OR.

He was a man of few words but was a great listener.
