Darron Willie Singleton Jr., affectionately known as "Little D", was born on December 12, 2000 to the proud parents Tausha Lachelle Broadnax and Darron Willie Singleton Sr. at Sharp Memorial Hospital in
San Diego, CA. He grew up in a loving family and attended Rowan Elementary School, O'Farrell Middle School, and graduated from Samuel F. B. Morse High School in June of 2019.
Darron's early years were filled with adventure and exploration. He grew up with a deep love for the outdoors spending many cherished hours with his father fishing, riding motorcycles in the desert, and going to the batting cages. Darron also was an avid athlete. He played baseball, football, and basketball for various leagues and communities in San Diego County.
Darron played basketball for Skyline Recreation Center. Darron played baseball for Paradise Hills Pony and Encanto Leagues from 2005-2014. In 2011, Darron Sr. won a raffle and received an exclusive all expense free trip to attend Super Bowl XLV (45). He gifted Darron Jr. with the trip which was the highlight of his 10-year-old life at the time. He played Pop Warner football for Skyline and Los Toros. His passion for sports earned him an "All Star" team selection and championship titles. He played defense for Morse High School football team.
Darron was a lover of the arts as he would rap and sing like many others in the family. You could sometimes find him writing lyrics and listening to music. He dedicated his time to ensuring safety by working security and assisting moving companies with furniture relocation. He also was continuing his education at Mesa College in
San Diego, CA.
Darron was called home to rest on September 18, 2024. Though his time with us was brief, his passion, big smile, and laughter will be carried forward by those who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his mother Tausha, grandfathers Ezell Singleton and Hilliard Broadnax, paternal great grandparents Geraldine and Melvin Tate, and Clarence and Xenobia Remble. Following the loss of Darron Jr. was the passing of his step-grandfather Donald Johnson.
Many families and friends are left to cherish his memory. He leaves behind his parents Darron Singleton Sr. and his stepmother Mary Singleton, siblings Sidney Gaines of
San Diego, CA and Temera Tutwiler (husband Maurice Tutwiler) of GA, stepsisters Sherlonda Smith of GA, Shenica Snowden, stepbrothers Donte Snowden and Damone Crearer all of
San Diego, CA maternal grandparents Dorothy Johnson of Perris, CA, paternal grandparents Richard and Harvena Westmoreland of
San Diego, CA, nieces Aryiah Tutwiler and Az'ariah Gaines, nephew Josiah Tutwiler. Special thanks to Darron's godmother Renee Dinkens, Treyvone Anderson, and Paul and Tanya Anderson, his cousin Davay Shields, and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Darron will be dearly missed. Until we meet again, take your rest
