It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl James Hebert on May 12, 2024. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Darryl was born September 20, 1965, to Dudley Joseph Hebert and the late Barbara Melancon Hebert.
Darryl is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Sarah Baudoin Hebert; his daughters, Brandi Baudoin Louviere and her husband Scottie, and Brittany Hebert Payne and her husband Kevin; his father, Dudley; his brother, Dwayne; and his sister, Darlene Hebert Comeaux and her husband Todd. Darryl was a proud grandfather to Cameron Louviere, son of Brandi and Scottie, and to Kayleigh, Taylor, and Logun Louviere, children of Scottie.
Known for his adventurous spirit and generosity, Darryl loved spending his weekends exploring new campgrounds, fishing, or visiting his and Sarah's favorite lunch spot, The Shed BBQ, in Mississippi. A master at every hobby he undertook, he was an accomplished welder who once enjoyed building aluminum boats and crafting fishing lures and hoop nets. Darryl also made a mean jambalaya, using a family recipe passed down by his father, Dudley.
Darryl's deep commitment to his community was demonstrated through countless weekends spent hosting and cooking for benefits to support families during their times of need. He and family also competed in cracklin cook-offs in Port Barre, LA. Darryl spent years serving as a Reserve Officer for the Broussard Police Department where he earned Top Gun in the police academy.
Darryl had a 27-year career with Halliburton, where his mechanical skills were invaluable.
Darryl's legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Darryl didn't want services and we will respect that. We will have a celebration of life at a later date, and we will share once scheduled.
