Darryl, a simple, kind soul known for his infectious humor passed away September 15, 2025 while tending to his yard.

He was born on January 8, 1938 in South Milwaukee to Albert and Enez Kowalsky. Darryl was always there when someone needed him. He brought love and laughter to his family and friends- who are missing him so deeply right now.

Darryl is survived by Kathleen, his loving wife of 61 years; his daughter Kim (Matt), his granddaughter Brianna (Thomas), his great grandson Mateo and grandson Collin. He is further survived by his brother Allen Kowalsky and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws- Roy and Alice Hull, brother and sister-in-laws.

Darryl served in the National Guard and retired from his career with Transamerica Financial Services in 1993.

Darryl was an avid gardener and looked forward to planting his tomato crop every year, and was making plans for next year's additions. He loved Wisconsin summers, and sitting in his yard watching his plants grow. He was an amazing cook and always showed his love for his family and friends through his salsas, sauces and the meals he lovingly prepared.

We celebrate his love-filled life and his kindness and compassion for others. A precious life that found joy in the simplest of things- warm summer days, evening fires, occasional visits to Potowatomi, farmer's markets and the "clown" of his family. Although he is fine from our lives, he will live forever in our hearts and our memories.

At his request there will be no visitation or service. Just his family remembering his legacy and reliving happy memories.
