Darryl D. Lewis, 66, of Southborough, died July 5, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA.
He was the son of the late Dean M. and Helen (Mocerino) Lewis.
Darryl is survived by his sons, Timothy Lewis and his partner Laura Loehle of Norwalk, CT and Thomas Lewis of Southborough, his sisters, Kimberly Lewis-Keddy and her husband Tim of Westborough, Robin Lamy and her husband Kevin of Northborough and Kathy Franchitto and her husband Brian of Southborough, his brothers, Steven Lewis and his wife Kathy of Sandwich and Dean Lewis, Jr. and his wife Adele of Eastham, his grandson, Asher Lewis, his former wife Susan (Johnson) Lewis, many nieces and nephews and the family pet Jessie, who was always by his side
Darryl grew up on John Street with his two brothers and three sisters. He was a pillar in the community of Southborough and spent the entirety of his life in the area. He began working at Quikprint, the family printing business, with his father Dean at a young age. He was joined in the business and worked with his sister Kim, serving the area for over 50 years.
Darryl maintained a long time friendship with former partner Susan Lewis with whom he raised his two sons, Tim and Tom. He was a dedicated father, supporting his sons throughout their academics, athletics, and hobbies through the years. A true hockey dad, he enjoyed waking up at the crack of dawn to get his boys on the ice and stand in the freezing cold for hours on end to watch them play. He had dreams of watching his grandson take his first strides on the ice and always talked about how excited he was to see him learn the sport.
No words can describe how great of a friend Darryl was to all. An avid sports fan, he was known to frequent local bars and restaurants, passionately discussing the latest Bruins lineups and a range of other topics. He was typically "found at the Du for a Mai Tai or two" and at the club spending time with his closest friends - a trip to either with Darryl was always worth your time.
He was a giving man and even following his passing, was able to save a life with the donation of his right kidney and was also able to donate his liver to science. Additionally, he was able to donate multiple other tissues to assist with surgical procedures to improve the lives of countless others.
Words cannot describe the sense of loss felt with Darryl's passing. He had a booming personality that one could not help but notice and his presence will be missed by all that knew him.
Visitation for Darryl will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4:00-7:00PM at the Morris-Johnston Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough, MA. A private burial for Darryl will be held at a later date.
