Darwin Dehnert Obituary

Darwin Eldon Dehnert, age 81, of Stanton, Michigan, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Born on December 6, 1943, in Howell, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Ernest Jay & Leah May (DeYoung) Dehnert.

Darwin was a devoted husband to Phyllis, with whom he shared 61 cherished years. Together they built a life grounded in love, family, and faith. He was a proud and loving father to Scott & Lori Dehnert of Stanton, Michigan, and Jill Tamburro of Stamford, Connecticut.

Darwin's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Gregory Dehnert of Stanton, Michigan; Travis, Colby, Chad, Jaden, and Mariah Tamburro of Stamford, Connecticut; Sara & Jason Clevenger of Stanton, Michigan; and Matt & Courtney Greenhoe of Sidney, Michigan. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kamdyn, Brantley, Lucas, Jace, Paisleigh, Julia, Logan, and Sadie.

Also surviving are his sister, Lois & Donald Larsen; sisters-in-law Joann Dehnert and Betty & Don Ward; a brother-in-law, Dale Clevenger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Denise Anne Dehnert; brothers, Robert Dehnert and Edward Dehnert; and sister-in-law, Joyce Clevenger.

Darwin will be remembered for his quiet strength, amusing humor, and many talents. A well-known and respected figure in the community, he worked as a building contractor, concrete and poured wall specialist, and excavating contractor. Above all, Darwin was a family man whose unwavering love and steady presence were the foundation of many lives.

Visitation with the family is from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Nevins Lake Church, 837 S. Nevins Road, Stanton, where a service to celebrate Darwin's life will be held beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Dennis Ross, pastor of Nevins Lake Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Nevins Lake Church for their summer soccer camp or The Springs Ministries in Darwin's name. Envelopes will be available at the church.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. To send a message of sympathy to the family, sign Darwin's online guest book, or to share a favorite memory or photo, please visit:
