Daryl Chapin

- Age 71, It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl, on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Daryl was a cherished husband, father, brother and friend, known for his big heart and kind soul.

Born and raised in Genesee County, Daryl graduated from LakeVille High School in 1972 and began his career at General Motors in 1977 at the Flint Engine Operations. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired from Romulus Engine Operations as a General Foreman. Daryl was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, always sharing stories of their achievements and joys.

Daryl had a deep love for Michigan Football and the Detroit Tigers, often spending weekends cheering on his favorite teams. He enjoyed singing, fishing, and hunting - passions that brought him great happiness and peace. He loved reading about shipwrecks in the Great Lakes and cherished his property in Canada. He would often reminisce about playing baseball and his childhood friends.

Daryl is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Sarah (Scott) Larson and Matt Chapin (Jamie Dilworth); grandchildren, Grace Barron, Sophia Larson, Evan Larson, and Georgia Chapin; his brothers, David Stiff, Gary (Nancy) Chapin, Deanna (David) Smith, Darla (Troy) Campbell; his sister-in-law, Crystal (Paul) Kardos; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Marjorie Chapin; brother, Dallas Chapin.

Daryl's legacy is one of kindness, love, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Daryl's life will be held at a later date. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
