Daryl Harris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Royal Funeral Home, Inc. - Jesup on Feb. 4, 2026.
Daryl Eugene Harris, Jr., 56, of Jesup, Georgia, passed away on February 2, 2026, in Atlanta, GA following a sudden illness. His passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who loved him, yet his memory will remain a steady, comforting light for all the lives he touched.

Born on December 26, 1969, in Savannah, Daryl was the cherished son of the late Daryl Eugene Harris, Sr. and Carrie Grisby (Tillman), and the beloved stepson of Larry Grisby, Sr. He grew up embraced by a large, close knit family rooted in love, tradition, and strong faith. He carried with him throughout his life the guidance and influence of his late grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins in Savannah, Georgia, whose support helped shape him into the man he became.

A proud graduate of Wayne County High School, Daryl lived a life marked by hard work and dedication. He was employed for many years at Chemtall in Riceboro, GA, and later followed his passion as an entrepreneur, earning admiration for his work ethic, reliability, and calm, steady presence.

When he wasn't working, Daryl found peace and joy in the simple moments especially fishing, spending time outdoors, and quiet reflection in nature.

Daryl's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Katreace Harris, who lovingly stood by his side. He leaves behind his children: Carrie Harris, Daryl Eugene Harris III, and Eugene Harris, all of Jesup, GA. He loved his children deeply, with a fierce and unwavering devotion that touched every part of their lives.

Daryl is also survived by his siblings: Enrico Harris (Tonya), Anthony Tillman (Kenyatta), Allen Dewayne Tillman (Latara), Larry Grisby, Jr., and Calra Bolton. Each of them held a treasured place in his heart. He is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, in laws, extended relatives, and dear friends, all of whom were blessed by his kindness and steady love. Among his most cherished joys were his granddaughters, Arienanna Harris and Noelle Bryant, who brought laughter, light, and renewed purpose into his life. Their memories with "Papa" will be lovingly carried forward for generations to come.

A memorial service honoring Daryl's life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street in Jesup, Georgia. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose humility, gentle spirit, and unwavering love enriched every life he touched.
