Dasan Spann Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Epting Funeral Home - Gravette from Dec. 17 to Dec. 18, 2022.
30-year-old Dasan J. William (DJ) Spann of Gentry, AR left this earthly world Monday, December 12, 2022. He was born February 22, 1992 in the back seat of a little red car on the side of the highway during a snowstorm on the way to the hospital in Mayville, ND – delivered feet first by the local chiropractor.
Dasan was the third of four children and the only son. He is survived by his mother, Kim Locken of Homosassa, Florida; three sisters: Rebecka Spann of Gentry, AR; Kristen Newman of Fort Smith, AR; and Samantha Spann of Exeter, MO; two nephews; two nieces; two aunts; and two uncles.
Dasan and his three sisters were adopted in 2002. He is survived by his adopted mother Kathy Cudmore of Exeter, MO and fifteen adopted siblings: Sarah Kozlowski of Centerton, AR; Joline Spann of Mercedes, TX; Delilah Cudmore of Purdy, MO; Kyle Hawkins of YaKima, WA; Rachel Wise of Mason City, IA; Kristin McLeod, Andrea Cudmore, Wyatt Hawkins, Korah Cudmore, and Caleb Cudmore, all of Cassville, MO; and Naomi Cudmore, Aaron Cudmore, Ivy Cudmore, Willow Cudmore, and Sadie Cudmore, all of Exeter, MO; three adopted step-siblings: Anthony Cudmore of Virginia Beach, VA; Christopher Cudmore of Fayetteville, AR; and Jaki Linster of RI; as well as many adopted nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a practical joker, always looking to make people laugh or put a smile on their face. He was a friend to everyone, always willing to help in any way that he could. He would go out of his way for his friends and family. He was a hard worker and loving and caring. He loved food, animals, and children. He was a kid at heart, the fun uncle, everyone's brother. He would keep your secrets. He loved the holidays and made them special.
He cared for the elderly and disabled. He gave without expecting anything in return. He was a true angel on earth, and those who knew him were blessed by his goodness and light. Farewell my brother. We all love you. You are missed.
From the age of eighteen he lived with and was preceded in death by Martha McGarrah, Charles McGarrah, and Terry Noah; and is survived by Tammie Noah, Amy Noah, Dedra Noah, David Grizzle, and their two sons.
Visitation for DJ will be Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 11am at Epting Funeral Home of Gravette, and the funeral service will follow at 12pm. The family would like to invite you to a potluck celebration of DJ's life at the Springtown Community Center beginning at 2pm.
My Brothers and My Sisters, Lo, There Do I See The Line of My People Back To The Beginning, Lo, They Do Call To Me, They Bid Me Take My Place Among Them In The Halls of VALHALLA Where Thine Enemies Have Been Vanquished, Where The Brave Shall Live Forever, Nor Shall We Mourn, But Rejoice For Those That Have Died The Glorious Death.
