Dathan William Neumeyer, 48, passed away suddenly on January 22, 2026, at his home in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on October 10, 1977, in Houston, Texas, to Cathy and Charles Neumeyer.

Dathan dedicated 14 years of his life to teaching woodshop at Sam Houston High School, a role he truly loved. Teaching was more than a career to him—it was a calling. He poured his heart into his students and found deep joy in helping them learn, create, and grow. Dathan was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 2000.

Outside of the classroom, Dathan had a huge passion for camping and the outdoors. He was especially excited about an upcoming summer camping trip planned with his wife and children, often referring to it as “the trip of a lifetime.” His enthusiasm for life and time spent with family was contagious.

Dathan had a rare and genuine love for people. He invested deeply in others, and everyone he knew felt like a best friend. He adored his family and cherished every minute spent with them. Those closest to him take comfort in knowing how fully he loved and how deeply he was loved in return.

Dathan also found peace in his faith, believing that life on earth was only a steppingstone and that there was more beyond. He looked forward to the day he would be reunited with his father in heaven. His family is comforted in knowing where Dathan is today and in believing that he now has all the answers he was always so eager to know.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Katybeth Hagler; son Charlie Neumeyer; daughters, Cali Neumeyer and Campbell Neumeyer; parents, Cathy and Charles Neumeyer; mother and father in law, Becky and Skeeter Hagler; sister in law, Kirbey Hagler; brothers in law, Casey, Clay, and Cody Hagler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Dathan’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the students he inspired, and the love he shared so freely.
