Dave Knetter, age 70, died on September 20, 2024.
Dave was born the 8th child of 10, to John and Martha (Brzenzinski) Knetter on May 24, 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Cindy Newman, on September 20, 1975. They had four children, Troy (Sonja), Shannon (Rob), Shawn (Jolene), Nathan (Katie), and eight grandchildren.
Dave’s love of the outdoors led him to pursue a career in logging and farming. His career in logging was unique in the fact that he used draft horses for skidding out the logs. This encouraged him to share his love of horses with the family and friends by having wagon and trail rides throughout the year.
His true love in life was spending time with the grandkids and playing their favorite “The Guessing Game”. Visitors and friends were always welcome for a gathering in the Knetter garage for a story and “just one more”.
Dave was preceded in death by parents John and Martha Knetter, brother Alvin Knetter, sister Violet and brother-in-law Anthony Stockheimer, brother-in-law Dennis Kaiser, brother-in-law Joesph Stockheimer, brother Glen Knetter, brother-in-law Steve Newman, and father-in-law Hugh Newman.
Dave is survived by wife Cindy Knetter, children Troy (Sonja) Knetter, Shannon (Rob) Raflik, Shawn (Jolene) Knetter, Nathan (Katie) Knetter, grandchildren Brandon, Aaron, Allison, Dakota, Courtney, Nolan, Eli, and Alayna, sisters Darlene Regele, Helen Stockheimer, Emily Kaiser, Carol Knetter, Patrica (George) Weber, brother Myron (Carol) Knetter, sister-in-law Beckie Knetter, sister-in-law Connie (Darrell) Hand, brother-in-law Brian Newman, brother-in-law Russell (Fran) Newman, brother-in-law Gary (Cindy) Newman, and mother-in-law Geraldine Newman.
