Dave P. Materna,

Age 93, of Sandyville, passed away Thur., July 17, 2025. He was born Apr. 27, 1932, in Canton, a son of the late Carl and Odessa (Miller) Materna. Dave served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, having been stationed in North Africa. He retired from the Timken Co. in 1990 as an operator on the steel mill, attended Sandy Valley Church of God and served as a Cub Scout Master. Preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Materna; two sisters, Alice Farber and Lillian Hattery; and four brothers, Carl, Dan, Rich and George Materna. Survived by his wife, Janice Materna, and his son, David E. Materna. Private services will be handled by Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. There will be no calling hours. I´m so sorry for your loss Mrs. Materna and Dave Materna II, I once had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Dave Materna Sr. with his wife Janice, he seemed a very kind and loving man with his wife and son. My thoughts and sympathy are with you both at this time.

Here is my dad Lawrence Richard who served during the Korean War in the marines. Dave, Dan, and my dad had known each other along time. My dad also knew Janice too. Here´s a picture of my dad, his grand babies, my brother Larry wife Amanda, and me Jennifer Richard Graber. The other picture is my brother Larry with my dad grand baby.
