Funeral services for Dave Olszewski, 69, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Paul Olszewski and Pastor Dave Vandergriff officiating.
Mr. Olszewski was born on May 16, 1955, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Joseph M. Olszewski and Muriel (Maag) Olszewski, and died Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mr. Olszewski was the owner of Dave's PC Solutions before becoming a permanent resident of the Castle Pines Health and Rehab facility due to progressing multiple sclerosis. Mr. Olszewski was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church. He previously served as a volunteer firefighter for Hudson's Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Olszewski enjoyed being a weather watcher for KTRE, the latest technology, and gadgets. While residing at Castle Pines, he served as the President of the Resident Council. He considered himself to be a Trekkie. Mr. Olszewski loved spending his time with people; family, friends, and turning strangers into one of the two.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Olszewski of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, David "Oski" Olszewski and Chantel Curbo of Prosper, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Deana Olszewski of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Micah Powell of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Emelia Curbo, Callista Olszewski, Judith Olszewski, Jayden Olszewski, Byron Olszewski, Andrew Powell, and Ryan Powell; sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Alan Bird of Canada; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and John Burke of New Castle, DE; aunt, Dorothy Olszewski of Elsmere, DE; along with numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary pallbearers Alan Bird, John Burke, Eugene Hunsberger, Rodney Hunsberger, Jeff Myers, Ronnie Lusk, and Don Hannabas.
Special memorials may be made to Keltys First Baptist Church, Special Needs, 2402 N. John Redditt Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.

When I think of a good Dad, I would think of your husband and father. I have so many memories of the ballpark with y´all and Dave was always giving his time and support to the kids.
