David Lamar Bailey, age 54, of Ray City, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 31, 1971, and was the beloved son of Charles Richard Bailey, Sr. and Maxine May Bailey.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army, an honor he held close to his heart throughout his life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying time outside, especially when it meant playing in the yard with the kids.
Known affectionately as the “Kid Magnet,” David had a natural way with children. His own kids, along with his nieces and nephews, adored him because he was truly a kid at heart, fun, loving, playful, and full of energy. He was also well known for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and his love for good-natured teasing, always “talking smack” and keeping those around him laughing.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Chris Bailey.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Denise Bailey of Ray City, Georgia; children: Devin Bailey (Tessie), Ethan Bailey and Jake Bailey all of Ray City, Georgia; siblings: Rick Bailey (Nicole) of Lakeland, Georgia, Mark Bailey (Michelle) of Patten Maine, Lisa Fischer (Tom) of Lakeland, Georgia, Chuck Bailey (Emma) of Lakeland, Georgia, John Bailey of Lakeland, Georgia, Amanda Bailey of Lakeland, Georgia and Maggie Bailey of Lakeland, Georgia; sister-in-law, Kim Bailey of Lakeland, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Music Funeral Services of Lakeland.
