Jack Browning, age 89, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 13, 1936, in Ray City, Georgia to parents, Mose Browning and Maudell Rogers Browning.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same sense of dedication and duty throughout his life. For many years, he worked faithfully for Tom Hutchinson Construction Co., where he was known for his strong work ethic and quiet determination.
He deeply loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them. Whether he was working in his shop, enjoying car racing, or simply gathering with those he loved most, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A hardworking man who never complained, he faced each day with strength, humility, and a steady devotion to the people and passions that meant the most to him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Joan Gaskins
Jack is survived by his wife, Vonice Browning of 59.5 years of Valdosta, GA, son, Jason Browning (Shannon) of Moultrie, GA, grandchildren, Anna Browning, Emma Browning, Garrett Browning all of Moultrie, GA, sisters in law, Doris Summers of Valdosta, GA, Reba Hyder of Sumter, SC, Kay Gray of Easley, SC, brother in law, Bryant Baisden of The Villages, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Dr. Valdosta, GA 31602 or The Abundant Life Church of God Youth Group, 3419 Knights Academy Rd. Valdosta, GA 31604.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Music Funeral Services. Entombment to follow at Riverview Memorial Garden. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at https://www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Browning family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
