David Ray Baird, Jr. age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1983, in Alabaster, Al. Everyone loved and respected David, he had many friends and loyal customers. He was an avid gun collector and could answer any questions you had on guns or cars. David had a great knowledge about World War II and anything involving American History. He was a great jokester and had a nickname for almost everyone. Above all, David loved his family and his dogs. He was an amazing son, husband and father.
David is preceded by his grandparents, James R. and Sarah Lee Howard, and Ray and Marjorie Baird; uncles, Paul Baird and Earl "Buddy" Hamrick; and aunt, Gracie Hamrick; and furbaby, Hank. He is survived by the love of his life, Nicole Baird; precious son, Lee Baird; loving parents, David Sr. and Carol Baird; aunt, Jean Carrol (Billy Sr.); like a brother, Billy Carroll Jr.; in-laws, Steve and Cathy Lucas, and Nick and Gayla Popwell; brother-in-laws, Steve Lucas, James Popwell, and KJ Sanders; cousin, Brandy Gentry; and furbaby, Beau.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks to consider contributing to the fund that will be set up for his son's future. Donations can be made to David Lee Baird's account at ECO Credit Union in Alabaster, Al.
