Ruth Sheppard

Our beloved mother, Ruth Sheppard, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born as one of eight children in White Cloud, Kansas in 1930. Ruth enjoyed a full life including traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with loved ones. Her home was often filled with the aromas of delicious Sour Cream Pound cake or Oatmeal Raisin cookies that were freshly baked. Her cooking talents were shared with serving as a church hostess at Bluff Park United Methodist Church for many years, where she also worshipped her Lord and Savior.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Scott Sheppard (Sheila), Kevin Sheppard (Gail), Brian Sheppard (Laura); grandchildren, Brittney Brantley (Chad), Kathi Wilks(Josh), Alex Sheppard; brothers, Roger Bruning (Judy), Keith Bruning (Luz), several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and 5 great grandchildren.

Ruth will be celebrated and remembered on March 4, 2026, at Bluff Park United Methodist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bluff Park UMC in her memory.
