David F. Barrette, Jr., 71, of Hartford Avenue, Johnston, passed away on Friday September 19th in his home and surrounded by his family and caregiver. He was the husband of Charlene M. (Giramma) Barrette. They had been married for 15 years.
Born in Providence, RI, a son of the late David F. and Norma M. (Chapdelaine) Barrette, Sr. He had lived in Johnston, RI previously living in Providence, RI.
David had been a Photo Engraver for the former Providence Gravure and an audiometric technician for Industrial Hearing in Auburn, MA before retiring.
Dave's love for the arts shone through in everything he did. A talented guitarist, he found joy in playing for those he loved-whether entertaining friends, filling family gatherings with music, delighting his grandchildren, or sharing songs with the children at TriCounty Head Start. His creativity also came to life through drawing and his wood burning hobby, where he carefully crafted unique pieces that he gifted to friends and family. Beyond his artistic talents, Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and the gift of gab, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone he encountered. Through his music, art, wit, and warmth, he shared his heart generously and left behind countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Besides his wife he leaves his sons, Michael D. Barrette of Attleboro, MA and Matthew D. Barrette of Smithfield, RI. He was the brother of Jacqueline S. Boucher of Bradenton, FL, Lisa A Barrette of Whitinsville, MA, and Wayne R. Barrette of Palm Harbor, FL. He was the stepfather of Emilee-Rose O'Connor of Cumberland, RI, Hannah VanMeter of Narragansett, RI and Amelia Durante of Cranston, RI. He was Pepe to Angel, Gabriel, Jourdyn, Johnny, Logan, Shane, and Lincoln.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 24th 11:00 am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. His burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 23rd from 5 pm to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Vintage Pet Rescue Vintage Pet Rescue
