David Batchelder Obituary
David was born on October 28, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. He spent his life working as a general contractor and was known for his strong work ethic and skill. David loved people and was a friend to everyone he met. He found his greatest joy on the water. An avid boater, he spent every summer weekend in the St. Clair Flats. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, David built his own island and cottage in the Flats. The island became a cornerstone of memories for generations of his friends and family.
David loved a good joke, a Chris-Craft boat, and sunsets over the St. Clair Flats. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Save Our South Channel Lights.
