David W. Beane

David W Beane 70 years old born August 27, 1955, and left this world December 12, 2025, to go home to be with his Lord and Savior a proud and lifelong Sissonville West Virginia resident passed away surrounded by those he loved.

David was a 1973 graduate of Sissonville High School. David was a dedicated member of both the Operating Engineers Local 132 and the United Mine Workers. Over the years he worked for many companies, but he spent the majority of his career with Jones Excavating Company. Known throughout the state for his incredible skill, David was considered one of the best heavy-equipment operators around — a craft he not only mastered but truly loved.

David is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Wilma; his mother, Nora (Tang) Thaxton; his son Jeremiah (JD) Beane; daughters Ashley Hall (Todd) and Chelsee Beane; brothers Michael and Ray Burford; sisters Lorie Thaxton-Kozak, Sue Burford-Gigante, and Nora Burford-Protzman; and his cherished grandchildren Cameran Jewett, Ava Hall, and Cade Beane. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

David was so proud of his daughter Ashley becoming a nurse and he depended on her throughout his sickness she gave him comfort. He was always proud of his son that was basically a duplicate of himself. He was there during his sickness to pick up where Dave left off taking care of the animals and farm. His youngest daughter Chelsee became a sailor in the US Navy when he saw her in her uniform he just boast with pride!! He would always say I’m so proud of my baby girl, but my horseback rider left me. When myself his wife became disabled, he took care of me like a baby he was so good and loving towards me. We fell in love all over again.

He was preceded in death by his precious grandmother, Mary Beane, who held a special place in his heart; his uncle James “Doo” Beane, who was like a father to him; his biological father Delba Burford; and his stepfather Robert (Bob) Thaxton.

David was a true, real-life Daniel Boone. He loved the outdoors and especially loved to hunt. His passion took him across the country — from Montana, Texas, and Colorado to the northern forests of Canada and Maine, down through North Carolina and Virginia, and of course throughout his beloved West Virginia. He proudly brought home mule deer, antelope, and bears from his many adventures. He was also a great horseback rider with his horse named “Apache” he dearly loved his horse!! Dave loved animals and farming we always said he was born in the wrong century. He was an old soul at heart.

Alongside his Uncle Doo and many close friends, David also had enjoyed “gravelling,” catching huge catfish and even turtles with their hands. He was truly a man of many talents, capable of just about anything he set out to do.

More than anything, David will be remembered for his generosity and his heart. He was the person everyone called when they needed help — no judgment, no hesitation, just a willing hand and a dependable presence. The entire neighborhood could count on him for anything and everything, and he never once failed to show up.

David’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and love for the outdoors will live on in the countless people whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Goldtown Community Church, Goldtown, with Chase Eckenrode and Al Mendez officiating. Burial will be in the Jim Beane Family Cemetery, Sissonville. A time of visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Tuesday at the Goldtown Community Church.
