Richard Bailey Sr., 74, of Kenna, W.V., went to be with his Lord on December 8, 2025 following an accident. He was born on November 28, 1951; a son to the late Samuel and Florence Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert William Bailey and Arthur Samuel Bailey.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Bailey, whom he would have shared an 18th wedding anniversary with on Christmas Eve. He is also survived by sons, Richard (Lizzye) Bailey Jr. and Zackory (Brittany) Barnes; sisters, Sandra Kay Russell and Anna Bailey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; close friends Bear, Maytag, and the brothers in Creatures-Non Profit; and last but not least his dogs Peanut and Diamond Marie.
In Richards spare time he enjoyed riding on the open road and working on his most recent Hotrod project, he also enjoyed repairing motorcycles. Some of which he owned were a 1955 custom Royale and many Harley Davidsons. Throughout his life he was a Sargeant for the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army and reached many accomplishments. He will be remembered by his family for the hardworking man that he was and missed dearly.
There will be a funeral service held at Waybright Funeral Home (511 S. Church St. Ripley, WV 25271) on Friday, December 12th at 3p.m. with pastor Anderson officiating. The visitation will be from 1p.m. until the time of the service. In honoring the families’ wishes Richard will be cremated following the service.
