James Justice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.
James (Red) Randall Justice, 87, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Roane General Hospital in Spencer, WV.

He was born on October 13, 1938, in Left Hand, WV, to the late John and Myrtle Ann Dye Justice. He was married to the love of his life, the late Lora Mae Carper Justice, on June 24, 1961, and they shared 63 devoted years together side by side.

Red loved his family with his whole heart. He was a quiet, steady man who found his greatest peace at home, the place he loved most. He took pride in the home and life he built, and he was happiest simply being there, surrounded by his family. He did not need much, just time together, a good meal, and a game to play. Some of the best memories made with him were around the table, where his competitive spirit always showed through.

He loved sports and could always be found watching a classic western. He
also enjoyed playing cards and bingo, hunting, fishing, and buying and selling cars.

In his early career, he worked as a car mechanic for garages in Clendenin and Elkview until he began working for Columbia Gas Transmission in 1981, where he remained until his retirement.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter and son in law, Tammy and Ron White of Spencer, WV; daughter, Lisa Taylor and Jay Light of Cross Lanes, WV. Grandchildren, Bradford (Casey) Camp of Ripley, WV and Riley White of Morgantown, WV; great grandchildren, Gavin and Addison Camp of Ripley, WV; brother. Gerald (Lucille) Justice of Akron, OH; brother and sister in law, Danny Joe and Linda Carper; sister in law, Patricia (Tom) Sungy; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons in law, Michael Camp and Kevin Taylor; his grandson, Derrick Camp; brothers, William Ross, Hershel, Gene, Neal, and Herbert; and sisters, Wanda Goodwin, Margaret Jewell Sharp, and Joyce Bowers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Taylor Vandale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 11:00 am at Taylor Vandale Funeral Home, followed by burial at Amma Cemetery in Amma, WV.
