David Carter Obituary
He was born August 23, 1944 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Hartsel and Mildred Lowther Carter. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 32½ years in the maintenance department. He was a collector of electric trains, guns, and pocket watches, was co-owner of Carter-Wilson Apartments, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and loved spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lynn Carter; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Deanna Carter of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, and Meredith Carter, and Joshua and Hailey Boothe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Carter.
A memorial celebration visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 12:00 noon-2:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. There will be a private family burial at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Spencer.
