Patsy E Drake Flensborg, 87, of Vienna, passed away February 24, 2026 at Eagle Point Health Care Center. She was born April 21, 1938, in Left Hand, WV, the daughter of the late James Franklin and Mildred Reed Drake. She spent her childhood on the family farm.

Patsy was a graduate of Spencer High School. She received her RN from Camden Clark School of Nursing, and received her BA from Glenville State College.

She remembered fondly her days in Roane County, and enjoyed sharing stories of her time there with her family and friends. She planned and hosted many events that included the families of her eight brothers and sisters and her friends. She loved to cook for large gatherings.

She spent most of her working years at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in nursing and in management roles. She later worked for Parkersburg Medical Associates and at Brookmar, Inc. where she supervised the gathering of data required for the C8 Health Project in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Patsy was very active in both Wayside and Stout Memorial, United Methodist Churches, and in district and state activities of the WV Methodist Conference. She was instrumental in founding the National Association for Healthcare Quality and served as its president. She was an active member of Altrusa International of Parkersburg, serving on committees and as president. She also held regional and national offices in Altrusa. Patsy was also a volunteer in several local events.

Patsy is survived by her sister Helen Perrow (Edward), Lilburn GA, three brothers David Drake (Carmen) SanAntonio TX, Harlan (Phyllis) of Spencer WV, Ernest of Mineral Wells, WV.

Also surviving are her son, David Kirk Samuels of Vienna, daughters Sandy Gatski of Springfield, VA, Karen Goudy of West Palm Beach, FL, Debbie Flensborg of Washington State. Also surviving are grand-children, Katie Gatski (Leland), Jason Gatski, Brittany Lappano (David), Joseph Miller (Gina), Jessica Woodall (Luke) and Robin Shepard (Ben), She had five great grand-children, Samuel, Quinten, Nixon, Seraphina. and Julian. She is also survived by twenty-seven nieces and nephews who were a loving part of her life. She had many cousins on both the Drake and Reed sides of her family. She also leaves behind her dominoes buddies, many friends and associates.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Samuels and Daniel Flensborg, step son Keith Flensborg, her sister Jacqueline Clepper and brothers Raymond, Foster, and Wendell Drake.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna. Visitation will be 11 AM until time of service.

In liu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity, or the Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, United Women of Faith, a favorite cause and activity for Patsy.

Burial will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
