Ruth “Kathleen” Pruney, 76, of Vienna, passed away to the arms of her Savior on February 17, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Belva and John Lloyd Davis.

Ruth was a 1968 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post 8127. Always working from a young age, from being a secretary at Creel Nursing Home, Johns-Manville’s first female plant floor supervisor, to working at Erie Insurance, she was always working hard. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, boating, camping, and cycling. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family who she loved dearly, especially her mother, children, and grandchildren. Above all else, she enjoyed life. Though she had the occasional health issues, her faith kept her strong.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert Pruney of Vienna; sons, Steven Roberts of Vienna and Christopher Roberts of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Madison Roberts of Parkersburg; great-granddaughter, Sophia; sisters, Susie Pearl Davis and Becky Martin (Danny, her favorite brother-in-law); and sister-in-law, Sharon Davis, all of Vienna.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and James Howard Davis.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Amedisys for their kindness and caring, especially to Ruth and the support given to Robert and Steven as they cared for Ruth over the past several months.

A private service will take place at Lambert Tatman Funeral Homes and Ruth will be interred at Evergreen North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a dementia charity of your choice.

Ruth is no longer suffering, she is at peace now in the arms of her Savior, and beside her mother now. Smile that beautiful smile, mother. Thank you for being the greatest. Now it is time to dance across the sky. You will be deeply missed.
