David Allen Benn, 83, of Friedens, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 30, 2025, at his home. Born on May 27, 1942, in Milroy, to Darlington M. and Elizabeth M. (Hostetler) Benn, David was the third of five children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lonna L. (Watson) Benn; both parents; sister, Patricia C. (Benn) Fultz and husband, David Fultz; and brother, A. Walter Benn. He is survived by wife, Jacqueline (Hause) Benn; daughter, Dana L. Benn; daughter, Melissa M. (Benn) Yachere and husband, Rick L. Yachere; son, Thomas W. Benn and wife, Renee D. (Simpson) Benn; granddaughter, Megan L. (Yachere) Gallo and husband, Louis C. Gallo; granddaughter, Katelyn B. Yachere; grandson, Ryan D. Yachere and wife, Kylie (Hasseltine) Benn; granddaughter, Alanna D. Benn; great-grandsons, Ryder Louis Gallo and Luca David Gallo; brothers, D. Paul Benn and Roy C. Benn and wife, Roberta (Kauffman) Benn; sisters-in-law, Darla (McKenry) Benn and Cheryl Benn; and numerous nieces and nephews. David served in the United States Navy from June 16, 1960, to June 15, 1964, as an aviation electrician. Following an honorable discharge, he worked for American Airlines in the same capacity. He graduated from and taught at Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He worked for Cool Boy Products of Ohio and later for the Icee Company, where he served as Director of Training, developing and starting the FCB Training University in Phoenix, AZ, and later expanding to an East Coast location in Louisville, KY, where he worked until his retirement. David loved his Lord and was active in his church. He served as the AV director and developed and maintained a church website. David was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed hunting with his brothers and son. David was very loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. We do rejoice in the knowledge that he is in his eternal home and that we will see him again one day. Friends will be received 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at the Berlin Alliance Church, Berlin, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend James Kunes and Ryan Yachere officiating.
