David Allen Bentley, 69, of Bennett, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
David was born in Hamblen County, TN on May 31, 1954 to Robert and Evelyn Harris Bentley. He retired from 3M Corporation where he worked as a millwright/engineer in quarry construction. He enjoyed camping, music, playing the guitar and golfing with his best friend, Jim Holmes. He loved his family and especially enjoyed face-timing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy, his granddaughter, Tiffany and his sister, Kathy.
David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christina Bentley, of the home; children, Jonathan Bentley (Sarah), of Irmo, SC, Jessica Deleppo, of New Britain, CT, Sarah Winkley (Dan), of Cornwall, CT; Jesse Watson, of Wassic, NY, Shaun Watson, of Millertown, NY and Ronald Watson (Jessica), of Waterford, CT; sister, Bobbie Coslet (Steve), of Michigan City, IN; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother-in-law and father-in law, Charlene and Jim Hancock, of Broadway, NC; sister-in-law, Lianne Hustis, of Lillington, NC; brother-in-law, Randy Jewett, of Broadway, NC; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
