Jerry Lee Bentley, aged 74, passed away on February 1, 2026, at his home in Thomasville, Georgia. Jerry was born on October 2, 1951, in Nebraska. He proudly served in the Navy and dedicated numerous years to his career as a train mechanic with the renowned Ringling Brothers Circus. His time with the circus brought him joy and adventure, and he loved sharing stories about his travels across the country.
Jerry is survived by his beloved companion, Virginia Poeske, and his children, Gin Harris (Joe), Brian Bentley, and Greg Bentley. He will also be remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Kayly Pastizzo and Tyler Harris, as well as his great-grandchild, Connor Pastizzo.
