It is with great sadness that the family of David Kenneth Best, 47, of Concord, NH, announce his passing on December 1, 2023. The world lost a beautiful soul, great father, and friend who will be forever remembered with fondness and love. David “Dave” was born on September 15, 1976, in Stoughton, MA, to mother, Lynne Gould.

Dave spent his younger years in Massachusetts surrounded by friends and family, including numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. The friendships he formed growing up lasted decades. His love for all things New England sports started at a young age and only grew with time. He was a walking and talking Boston sports fan to his core. Dave knew names, dates, and stats of players many had long forgotten about. As an adult, Dave moved to Concord, NH, to begin his next chapter in life.

It is in Concord where Dave met many lifelong friends. His contagious laugh and lighthearted nature made him an easy friend to have. Always one to have a quick joke to make any moment lighter was something he excelled at. Dave was quick to offer a helping hand to those who were in need and helping family and friends gave him great joy. He was determined to never lose his native Boston accent while residing in NH.

Dave was proud to acknowledge that his greatest accomplishment was his relationship with his son, Jacob. He was actively involved in every aspect of Jacob’s life from the very beginning. Memories were important to him, and he made sure to attend as many family birthdays, cookouts, holiday parties and school events as possible. Bike rides around town and trips to the park were a normal occurrence for the father and son duo. Dave never wanted to miss a moment watching Jacob shine. He passed on his love for New England sports and strong work ethic to his son. Whenever he talked about Jacob, his eyes lit up with love and pride. He was determined to be the best father possible, and in this, he succeeded.

Dave was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Haskell of Massachusetts and uncles Mark Haskell of Concord, NH, and Charlie Haskell of Massachusetts. He is survived by his mother, Lynne and her husband, Dave Gould of Maine; his son, Jacob Best of Concord, NH; grandmother, Dale Rosanna of Boscawen, NH; his brother, Tony Rodrigues of Massachusetts; and siblings, Josh Gould, Lyndsay Gould and Pam Alley all of Maine. David had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; he loved all dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at 2:00pm at Tandy’s Pub & Grill, 1 Eagle Square in Concord, NH. All are welcome to attend.
