David Bickell Obituary
David was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Rotary club in Mechanicaville, Virginia and a dedicated volunteer at CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread in Galveston, Tx.
Throughout his career, David spent 27 years with Walmart, serving as a setup supervisor opening new stores and later as a store manager. During the past 8 years, he proudly owned and operated snow cone trucks.
Known for his generosity, humor, and unwavering kindness, David's greatest accomplishment was his beloved family.
He leaves a legacy of cherished memories and achievements with those he loved most; his wife of 20 years, Dawn Mathis Bickell; daughter, Kris Wernecke and husband Don; sons, Manuel Landaverde and wife Stacey and Jordan Landaverde and fiancee Christina; brother, Derek Bickell; sister Andrea Carroll and her husband Wayne; five grandchildren as well as numerous extended family, friends and colleagues.
In his honor, a visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 2:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

David was one of the best manager´s walmart had. He was a kind and loving human being and had a great sense of humour. He left such a great impression in the short tenure he worked at the Lamarque store and will always be missed by his colleagues and employees. I loved his smile and friendly nature. He touched many hearts

I will never forget what he did for me and my family when my son passed away. He made sure that everything was covered at the repast and he even came to the funeral. He even made sure that I received help even after everything was over. He was the best store manager that Walmart ever had. He always went above and beyond. My prayers and condolences to his family on the loss of such a great man. I am forever grateful that God allowed our paths to cross.
