David Howard Binford, age 77, a resident of Carthage, MO, passed away on July 18th, 2025 in Joplin, MO after a brief illness.
David was born on April 12th, 1948 in El Campo, TX to the late union of Kenneth and Bonnie (Schmidt) Binford. David married Wynanne Davis in 1985 and she survives. After High School, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he obtained his certificate in teaching. He worked as the sports director at South Shaver Baptist Church School in Houston, TX in the 1970's, as well as taught Sunday School. David had a huge heart and along the way, he mentored many students during Sunday School teachings, sporting events and even on the church bus rides. David later worked as an independent truck driver for over 30 years, traveling all around the United Sates. After retiring as a truck driver, David worked again as a school bus driver in Jarrell, TX. During Christmas time, he enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus on the bus he drove, which put a huge smile on the kids' faces. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Houston Astros.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Kinneth James Binford; and sister, Kathy Binford.
David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wynanne "Nan" Binford; son, Howard Binford and wife, Michelle; step-children, David Watson and Dawn Crawford; four sisters, Linda McCarter, Debra Clark, Deann Clark and Michele Burge; numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren; and a host of extended adopted family.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
