David Leon Bixler, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away July 18, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 13, 1942 to the late Rodney and Florence Bixler in Spencer, Indiana.
David attended Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis and graduated in 1961. He met the love of his life, Lettie Grubb, in 1972 and they wed on June 14, 1975. They lived together on the eastside of Indianapolis where he worked for Allison Payment Systems as a press operator. Over his 50 and a half year career with the company he worked many different jobs and was a skilled worker at all he did. He also dedicated 40 years to the local Girl Scouts as a copy operator. He enjoyed watching the Colts play on TV with his grandsons Tyler and Logan. He enjoyed bowling on league’s.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lettie Bixler; children, Tina Anders, Emily Young, Chris Bixler, and Gina Marquardt; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Delores.
David is preceded in death by his parents and sisters and brothers.
We politely ask that all in attendance wear masks.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 4 to 8PM with funeral services being held the following day at 1PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
