David Bledsoe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bullock Funeral Home & Crematorium on Mar. 14, 2026.
Sumter, SC…. David Wendell Bledsoe, age 66, beloved husband of 42 years to Doris Marie Bledsoe, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

David was born in Bermuda, the son of Josphine Cockerill Bledsoe and the late Marvin Keller Bledsoe. David had a deep love for nature and found joy in spending time outdoors. He was a natural tinkerer, especially when it came to cars, and he cherished every moment he spent riding motorcycles. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. His presence touched the lives of many, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, left behind to cherish his memory are his son, David Allen Bledsoe, Jr., his brother, Bobby Bledsoe, his sister, Theresa Bledsoe, his nephew, Blake Bledsoe, and his wife, Adrianna, his brother-in-law, Richard Clemens, his sister-in-law, Mary Byrley and her husband Frankie, and his very dear friends, Brandi Sloan, Stephen Sloan, and Richard Benenhaley.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Allen Bledsoe.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gonzalez and his entire oncology team for the care and compassion that they showed.
