David M. Blocher, of Brunswick Maine, passed quietly among family at 4:00am on February 20, 2026. He was 83 years old. David was born in Sayre Pennsylvania. He won his first award in History in high school in Towanda Pennsylvania. Then he earned the highest award in scouting, the eagle badge. Soon after he earned a scholarship to Carnegie Melon University. He attained his masters degree in computer science before joining the army as an Lt2. He was stationed at the Pentagon for 4 years and retired honorably a captain.

David moved to the North East to Acton Massachusetts where he helped pioneer computer sciences and raise his family. After retiring, he moved to Maine where he worked to coordinate the state's computer systems for the trash and recycling departments.

He was an avid hiker, a world traveler, a choral singer, and an hospice volunteer. David was predeceased by all 3 wives, 2 children, and a granddaughter. He is survived by 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on March 21st 2026 @ 1: 00pm at Brunswick United Methodist Church. 320 church st Brunswick Maine 04011. In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made to either the Maine Music Society or the Andwell Hospice. See the links below...
