David "Erik" Boes, age 59, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on October 1, 1965, to David and Betty (Christenson) Boes. Erik was a spirited red head who grew up in Norton Shores and attended Mona Shores High School.

Erik first married Bonnie (Bevins) Boes on June 3, 1989, and together they had 3 daughters (Erika, Chelsey, and Kaitlyn). His second marriage was to Kristi (Parks) Boes on December 4, 2003 and together they had 1 daughter (Staci). He was known for his strong work ethic and he took pride in his work. Whether welding, power washing, or painting, Erik gave his all and valued a job well done.

Erik was a talented athlete and outdoorsmen, playing hockey and baseball, and enjoying hunting and fishing. He was also a huge thrill seeker and had a passion for Motorcross. That passion earned him many State Championship titles. He passed that same adventurous spirit onto his daughters. A follower of Christ, Erik lived with a faith that helped him through life's challenges.

Erik is survived by his daughters Erika Boes, Chelsey (Ezli Teran) Boes, Kaitlyn (Tyler) Swearson, and Staci Boes; his grandchildren Amaya, Oaklyn, Evelyn, and Ezli; his mother Betty Boes; his brother Tim (Cyndi) Boes; sister-in-law Maria Boes; his nieces and nephews Kristina (Mark) Somerville, Brett (Hannah) Boes, Jacob (Meghan) Boes, and Caleb Boes; and his great-nephews Gabe and Ian Somerville. He was preceded in death by his father, David Boes; brother Mark Boes; and niece Alicia Boes.

Erik will be remembered for his adventurous heart. His legacy lives on in the skills he taught and the memories he left behind.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, at Journey Church, 5660 Quarterline Rd., Muskegon MI 49444. Memorial contributions can be made to the family with checks made out to Chelsey Boes.
