David Boles, age 64, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 19, 2026, after a courageous struggle with esophageal cancer.
A devoted member of The Carpenter's House, David faithfully lived out his calling to serve and uplift others through ministry, mentorship, and spiritual guidance.
David is survived by his wife, Kristin Parks; children, Bianca Bruce (husband John Bruce), Amanda Boles (husband Adam Bogardus), Justin Boles (wife Elmira Boles), and Joshua Boles; grandchildren, Margot, Madelyn, Marcus, and Finley. He is also survived by his father, Robert Boles; stepmother, Laura Boles; siblings, Arnold Boles, Sheryl Boles, Dalilah Brost, Robert Boles Jr and stepbrother Lance Austil, and his nephews and nieces and valued friend Kelli Berger.
David was proceeded in death by his mother Patricia Urban Boles.
Having persevered through many hardships in his own life, David was deeply committed to helping others overcome theirs. His personal journey gave him a unique understanding, empathy, and passion for restoration. He earned his Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Houston Graduate School of Theology, preparing him to devote the remainder of his life to ministry and counseling. He was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern and held certifications in Spiritual Direction Counseling, as well as in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Personal Development which reflects his desire and commitment to guide others toward healing, restoration, and spiritual growth.
David touched countless lives through his work in prison ministry, where he served as a Volunteer Assistant Chaplain with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), ministering at the Clemens Unit, Ramsey Unit, and Stringfellow Unit in Brazoria County, Texas. There, he presented sermons, provided spiritual counseling, and encouraged countless men seeking hope and a new direction. In addition to his chaplaincy work, David served as an instructor for the New Life Behavior Ministries Program, the Voyager Life Skills Program, and the Truth Project Program. Through these ministries, he provided practical tools, biblical instruction, and encouragement to individuals striving for personal transformation.
David will be remembered for his servant's heart and sincere desire to help those in need. Though we grieve deeply and will miss him dearly, we are comforted in knowing that he is now whole, healthy, and free from pain, resting in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served. His legacy will continue in the hearts of those he helped, mentored, and loved.
He will be deeply missed by his family, church family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
