David Leroy Bowen Jr.

1962 – 2026

David Leroy Bowen Jr., 64, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by friends and family.

Born in 1962 to David Leroy Bowen Sr. and Joanne Bowen, David lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and unwavering love for others. To all who knew him, he was the sweetest and most gentle soul - someone who instinctively put the needs of others before his own. His generous heart and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

David was a dedicated and loyal employee of Ron Wallace and Associates from 2006 to 2026. As a territory manager in sales, he traveled extensively up and down the East Coast, building not just business relationships but genuine friendships. It was often said that he could sell you the shirt off his back - but those who knew him best understood that he would much rather give it to you instead. His integrity, work ethic, and natural warmth made him deeply respected by colleagues and clients alike.

On June 1, 2025, David married his lifelong and faithful friend of more than ten years, Mary McAlhaney .Their marriage was a testament to enduring friendship, devotion, and love. As David courageously faced stage 4 pancreatic cancer, they chose to stand side by side - because they knew they were stronger and better together. Their union was marked by deep partnership, laughter, and unwavering commitment through life's most difficult chapters.

David is survived by his father, David Leroy Bowen Sr.(Judy Bowen)his brother, Thomas Christopher Bowen; his aunt, Ethel Ruth Rich, stepbrothers, Arthur Diehl,Charlie Diehl(Jennifer and Sam )and Harry Diehl (Darlene)his step sisters ,Theresa Watson (Tyler and Katie) Mary Gilbert (Jonathan) and Katherine Averitte ( Ricky and Forrest) and his loving wife Mary McAlhaney-Bowen and stepdaughter, Molly McAlhaney

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Church, 3529 Dundle Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life for friends will be held on May 2, 2026, at SB in Stallings, North Carolina.

Through it all, David treasured his family and friends. Being surrounded by those he loved brought him his greatest joy. He offered comfort without hesitation, listened without judgement and gave of himself freely and wholeheartedly. His compassion was not something that he turned on and off it simply was who he was.

David's life was a testament to selflessness, resilience, and love. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and remembered for the kindness and light he brought into the lives of so many.
